How it works

From manuscript to finished book, in three steps.

  1. 1

    Bring your manuscript

Drag in your Word file. Chapters, headings, italics and pictures come with it. Writing from scratch works too.

  2. 2

    Pick a style

Choose a design for the whole book, then fine-tune drop caps, ornaments and chapter openings. Every change shows on the page as you work.

  3. 3

    Publish everywhere

Check the book for your printer, then export the print PDF and the ebooks for every store.

Preview

See it on every device.

Flip through the print book page by page, or read the ebook on a Kindle, iPad, iPhone, Kobo, Nook or Android tablet, in day, sepia or night mode, before your readers do.

The ebook preview: the book on an iPad, with a list of devices on the left and reader settings on the right.

Check before sending

Ready for Amazon, before you upload.

Tellurin checks the print file the way your printer will: trim size, margins, bleed, fonts, colors and picture sharpness. If something needs a look, it says so in plain words and takes you to the page.

The check before sending, for Amazon KDP: ready to send, one warning about a picture, nineteen checks passed.

Print cover

The full cover, with the spine worked out.

Design the wraparound print cover in the same place as the book. The spine width follows your page count and paper, and the barcode area is already where the printer wants it.

The print cover designer: back cover, spine and front cover laid out with bleed and the barcode area.

Questions

Good to know.

Which computers does Tellurin run on?

Windows and Linux. A macOS version is on the way.

Can I try it before I buy?

Yes. You can design your whole book and preview it before you buy. The license unlocks the final export.

Do I need to be online?

Only once, to activate your license. A computer without internet can be activated from another device.

Will Amazon and IngramSpark accept my files?

Tellurin checks the print file against what Amazon KDP and IngramSpark ask for before you send it, and the ebooks follow the EPUB 3 standard the stores require.

Is my book uploaded anywhere?

No. Your books are saved on your own computer, as ordinary files you can copy and back up.

Can I bring a book I wrote in Word?

Yes. Drag the Word file into Tellurin and it becomes a book. If you change the Word file later, you can bring the changes in again.
